THE SURPRISE JUMP

$100.00

Carp and Western Grebes, Farmington Bay Bird Refuge. Picture this… I was lying on the ground (on top of a pad because it’s muddy and cold - right) photographing the adorable Grebes and waiting for them to come just a bit closer. I was covered with my camouflage sheet, my tripod had its legs splayed, my camera was poking out ever so slightly in a hole I had ripped in the sheet, and I was ready for whatever came my way. Sort of. In my viewfinder, I saw this carp jump straight out of the water. First of all, I had to take a deep breath, and then I had to get ready because from my experience I have noticed that they usually jump twice to get rid of mud, muck, and pebbles from their gills. Then it happened, and I just kept pressing my shutter hoping for a magical image. When I got home and displayed my images on my monitor, I gasped; there it was, just as I had hoped.

8” x 12” (Horizontal Format) Archival Pigment Print on Pearl Paper
