NORTH ARM, WEBER RIVER, GREAT SALT LAKE
The reflections and the steel-blue water drew me to photograph this image. This is one of the confluences that flow into Great Salt Lake as a delta. It is part of the Ogden Bay Waterfowl Management Area. This area was America’s first project funded through the Pittman-Robertson Federal Aid, which established the Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937. Millions of acres of critical waterfowl habitat have been created and maintained through this important legislation, hailed as the foundation for wildlife conservation in the United States. The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp BS2 in Hooper, Utah, helped construct the original Ogden Bay WMA from 1938 to 1942.
