THE BEST SPOT TO GROOM
Turkey Vulture, Long Pine Key, Everglades National Park. When I first arrived in Miami, Florida I could spot the Vultures flying overhead by the dozens. I tried to capture some images of them from my hotel balcony, but they were pretty mediocre. As I was wandering along a path next to a campground in the Everglades National Park, I came upon this Vulture off in the distance slowly grooming itself on the top of a dead tree. The scene with the soft green of the trees and the Vulture slowly grooming each feather, and forming a circle with its body and feathers, created a scene I didn’t want to miss.
