Wood Storks, Big Cypress, Wakodahatchee, Florida. On my trip to Florida, I had several birds that I wanted to see and photograph. A Wood Stork was high on my list because it is a bird that we do not have out west, and they are just starting to make a comeback in Florida. I was walking along the boardwalk at Wakodahatchee, when a photographer I was with, yelled to me that there was a pair of Wood Storks flying overhead. She knew that photographing them was one of my goals. I tracked where they were headed, and took off down the trail. Several pairs had landed in the near-distant trees. I stood and photographed them for quite some time grinning ear to ear. It is the beginning of the mating season for these birds in the Florida region.
